Odd Vintage St. Patrick’s Day Art
There are actually some pretty humorous free vintage St. Patrick’s Day clip art images available if you look around. You’d think they’d be more serious, considering that St. Patrick’s Day is the 6th century anniversary of St. Patrick’s death. Not exactly a cheery occasion, if you ask me! In spite of this, there are St. Patrick’s Day images generated in the last century or two that feature goofy interpretations of classic Irish ad St. Patrick’s Day themes. These include dancing leprechauns, drunken Irishmen (although that’s quite an unfair stereotype), fair Irish lasses dancing wildly and flailing their petticoats about and all kinds of other almost strange imagery.
It’s wonderful that these images have been preserved for posterity, thanks to digital scanning and the ease of posting images on blogs, Web sites, forums, MySpace, Facebook and other social media sites. these classic images that used to be hard to come by are now easy to find, so vintage St. Patrick’s Day clip art will live on forever!
